Ahhhhhhhhh. This episode reminded me of
"Harrison Bergeron" also known as "Humbugs" by Kurt Vonnegut,
particularly toward the end. Their is some similar funny business going
on and it you have read the short story my Vonnegut, then you can only
imagine what I mean by funny business.
So, Oren left us at yet
another cliff hanger in episode 7. Avvi has just found out the Edgar is
dead. Why hasn't the school told her? She wants answers and desperately
wants Perlow to give them to her, but instead of him, she gets Roseman. I
never had any sort of emotion attached to him prior to this episode,
but now I do. SICK-OLD-MAN! Does he do anything sick? No, but just the
words he says are gross!
Perlow does show up, but not for the
reasons Avvi wants. Yet again she is put at the mercy of those she
thought she could trust and is betrayed.
Roseman has a solution
for Avvi's pain resulting from the loss of the man she called dad,
Think about what Damon from Vampire Diaries does to Elana after her
brother dies mixed with Peta from the Hunger Games being brain washed
and there you have it.
Though the events are heart breaking to
Avvi, the reader get's to enjoy the ride down "memory" lane. I
LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDD the beach scene. UMM UMMM Triton!!!!!!!! The scene at
the dinner table 9had me teary eyed and the tears started flowing when
Paden showed up and delivered the best line ever. Think Princess Diaries
2.
This episode has an equal mix of heart wrenching mental
torture and comic moments. I particularly enjoyed the fruit jokes,
though it was more dark humor than anything.
In short, buy this episode, it actually made me cry it was so good.
