This book was definitely worth the purchase. I'm
a relatively slow reader, but I finished this book in about three
hours. It's a light read that will teach you a few things about writing
in a humorous way, with examples that aren't stretched out to the length
of novel. Having had my own work critiqued and not understanding some
of the better educated writers comments, this book has helped me to
understand some of what these people were saying. For example, I had no
idea why one of my beta readers kept saying, "There's an adjective. Kill
it!" and "Show not Tell." After reading this amazing informative book
with simple rules (I actually made some notes on it in a word .docx)I
now understand what the guy was talking about, and I feel confident that
I can use these methods to strengthen my work and take away some of the
prolonged hassle of editing the next time around. Like I said,
definitely worth the purchase.
