5.0 out of 5 stars AAHHHHHH I need book 2, January 12, 2013

This book was so awesome!!!! The only thing I hate about it is that I have no clue how long I'll have to wait for book 2 to come out and i want it right now. It's like rapture to me. You'll find out what rapture is in the book. Seriously you have to at least download the free preview and I'm telling you, you'll be hooked before it's over and wind up buying the book. I never write comments on amazon, but i had to let everyone know just how awesome this book is !!!!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the read, May 12, 2013

This book was definitely worth the purchase. I'm a relatively slow reader, but I finished this book in about three hours. It's a light read that will teach you a few things about writing in a humorous way, with examples that aren't stretched out to the length of novel. Having had my own work critiqued and not understanding some of the better educated writers comments, this book has helped me to understand some of what these people were saying. For example, I had no idea why one of my beta readers kept saying, "There's an adjective. Kill it!" and "Show not Tell." After reading this amazing informative book with simple rules (I actually made some notes on it in a word .docx)I now understand what the guy was talking about, and I feel confident that I can use these methods to strengthen my work and take away some of the prolonged hassle of editing the next time around. Like I said, definitely worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars AHHHHHHHHHHH Need book three, May 16, 2013

So I literally just read the entire book in a day, and now I want to go back read book 1, because it was just as awesome and then go back and read book 2 again. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I really need book three like now. Wish I knew the release date, but I know this one just came out, so I'm guessing 6 months. I can't believe some people gave this book a 1 obviously they wouldn't know a good book if I throw it at their head, or they got ticked off at one of the characters for either their actions or not being able to make up their mind, but hello, think back to when you were the character age, I bet you were indecisive too, but hey a decision is made in the end and you will find out some gruesome details about the king. Man, I hate him more than Celeste. I just want to smack him around. If I were America, I'd probably wind up getting beheaded. Oh my!!!! You have to get this book and the first one, and I just read the whole prince one last night, which was good as well. I kinda wish there was a parallel series with it all in his point of view. He's suddenly become even more interesting, now that I know the horrible things he has to go through. There were points where I wanted to scream at him in this book, but what America does is basically the same, so whatever, but yeah. Amazing read. Buy buy buy!

There are a few books that are worth having in print. This is one of them,

5.0 out of 5 stars "Yummy!" as Jen whould say. Love it!!!, June 8, 2013

This book is absolutely amazing. It's really captivating and you will instantly be hooked. There's only like one part that doesn't have a lot of action, but within the next chapter or so, you won't be able to put it down again. Once I got done with the first one, I read straight through the next three within 2 or 3 days, because I was eating, sleeping, and breathing it. I'd even read it on the toilet. Probably not the best idea, because people will wonder why it took you an hour to go pee. Really, the book is a must have along with the rest of the series. Jen is hilarious, jacque is smart and strong, sally is sweet, decebel... mouth watering, just you wait to book three. It's all innocent, but it'll arouse you as well as fifty shades of grey. I'm on book 5 and thing just keep getting better, Costin is so dreamy. :)

Damaged (Volume 1)

Damaged (Volume 1)

5.0 out of 5 stars Glad I ignored the bad reviews! This book is Amazing! Gripping! Original!, June 29, 2013

Though the concept of teacher/student relationships is often seen in books and television shows, such as Pretty Little Liars, this series approaches it in a slightly different way. Is anything that they do really wrong? Though they are innocent as far as actions go, their feelings for each other put their futures at risk. He could lose his job as a professor and she could lose her scholarship money. That's not the only thing that stands in the way of them being able to give into the their deepest desires. They both have a rocky past; they're both damaged. But are they each others solution to healing from that past? And, what happens when your past hunts you down -literally?

I am no doubt a slow reader and I bought this book only last night, and have already finished it and book. This are 350+ page books, so that is no short stride. They were just so good that I couldn't put them down. I got this one around 8 or 9pm and read straight through until 7 in the morning, because I wasn't willing to sleep before finishing the book. Lucky for me, book 2 (Damaged 2) was already out, so I got it this morning, and by 8 tonight i as done.

Book 1 I liked slightly more than book 2, but they were both amazing. The sexual tension was amazing even when they weren't touching. I just wanna to grab my husband and make-out with him to relieve it.Book 2 didn't have quite as much tension, but was very original and interesting, and contained some very intense moments were you may just wanna kill somebody.

I'm so glad that I ignored all of those 1 star reviews that almost turned me away, because I would have missed out of this really amazing series. I don't think there will be a book 3 but if there is, I will be buying it. And the authors style of writing is enough to make me wanna check out some of her other book. So buy it, because I highly doubt you will regret it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Made me melt at the end, March 22, 2014

Okay, so in the beginning I felt the story needed a lot of work. There were missing words, horrible grammar, and it extremely unrealistic and rushed. I wasn't used to the whole calling out the audience thing. My best advice to the author: GET A BETA READER!!!!! (Please join goodreads. Here's the link to the group I manage and our beta's are free [...] You have the talent, but you need to read through this again, more than once.)

The mistakes were easy to avoid. I've never been good with grammar, but these mistake were ones that a simple read through would have fixed and it seemed like the author hadn't took the time to read through it even once.

Despite all of this, I couldn't stop reading. I was being a grammar nazi, but I was captivated. I have no idea why, but I was. Perhaps I wanted to make it to the foretold kiss.

The last 30% of the book was amazing and the end made me melt. Like that feeling when you're first falling in love, or you have a really big crush on someone and they tell you they like you too. Oh yeah, got the chills. LOVVVVVVVVEEEEDDDDDD the kiss. UGHHHH the lead up was good. I kept looking at the progress bar both hoping it would move and not move, because I wanted more, but I also wanted to hurry and get to the kiss. I want to see more with these characters. Arren is HOTTTTT! Quiet mysterious guy who plays the cello. Ugh!! I almost gave this book a 4 for the last 30% but I didn't think that would be very fair. In some people's opinion, a 3 is too generous, but like I said, despite all of the things wrong with this book, it had enough going for it that I not only finished it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted more.

The pacing was fairly good for the length. I liked the characters and the karaoke scenes. I loved Arren's dialogue, especially right before the kiss. UGH I was so melting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome the the loony bin, May 22, 2014

Ahhhhhhhhh. This episode reminded me of "Harrison Bergeron" also known as "Humbugs" by Kurt Vonnegut, particularly toward the end. Their is some similar funny business going on and it you have read the short story my Vonnegut, then you can only imagine what I mean by funny business.

So, Oren left us at yet another cliff hanger in episode 7. Avvi has just found out the Edgar is dead. Why hasn't the school told her? She wants answers and desperately wants Perlow to give them to her, but instead of him, she gets Roseman. I never had any sort of emotion attached to him prior to this episode, but now I do. SICK-OLD-MAN! Does he do anything sick? No, but just the words he says are gross!

Perlow does show up, but not for the reasons Avvi wants. Yet again she is put at the mercy of those she thought she could trust and is betrayed.

Roseman has a solution for Avvi's pain resulting from the loss of the man she called dad, Think about what Damon from Vampire Diaries does to Elana after her brother dies mixed with Peta from the Hunger Games being brain washed and there you have it.

Though the events are heart breaking to Avvi, the reader get's to enjoy the ride down "memory" lane. I LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDD the beach scene. UMM UMMM Triton!!!!!!!! The scene at the dinner table 9had me teary eyed and the tears started flowing when Paden showed up and delivered the best line ever. Think Princess Diaries 2.

This episode has an equal mix of heart wrenching mental torture and comic moments. I particularly enjoyed the fruit jokes, though it was more dark humor than anything.

In short, buy this episode, it actually made me cry it was so good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hello my darling, want to marry me?, May 22, 2014

OMG! Ok, so I had so many theories running through my head after the major cliffhanger in episode 6. I just knew Avvi was being kidnapped and someone was going to inflict pain. And the one guy she really liked was one of her captors. Well, I was so off, but I was not disappointed with what actually happened. Spoiler alert: Avvi wakes up in an unfamiliar place, wearing unfamiliar clothing, and a ring that won't come off! Who was the orchestrator of all this? Paden. If you're like me, you despise Paden the same way Avvi does. Or does she? Paden has an odd way of finding out whether she hates him or not. I've gotta hand it to the guy, he's resourceful. Paden is growing on me. He's a spoiled Royal, but can he be all that bad? I'm a little late on writing this review so I have already read episode 8, and let me tell you, Paden actually made me cry with his charm. Paden!!!! I am a Triton girl, but man. Anyway, this is a must read and you find out a little more about Mavrick.

5.0 out of 5 stars AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH The ending OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, March 22, 2014

Okay, I honestly don't know where to begin, so I guess I'll start with the beginning. I'll be as vague as always. Don't be mad, I just don't want to spoil anything for you.

Well, we finally find out who the other dragon is!! I thought it would be the Royal, but I was wrong, though, the guy is there on the Royal's behalf so I was kinda getting there. Well, this mystery dragon has something for Avvi that will change everything. Let's just say that it's the best possible thing Avvi has ever had or will ever have, though she is reluctant to accept it.

Next thing you know, everyone is off to the cabin again and there is a really funny scene between Avvi and Dante. The next morning is pretty epic and Avvi is in for a surprise. Have you ever had one of those dreams where every guy you ever liked wanted you? Well, it's kind of like that, but even more extreme, and dangerous?

Only one of the guys is able to help Avvi, and there is a pretty wicked reason for that. If you're a pretty good predictor, then like me, you figured it out in episode 2, but it's one thing to think you know and a whole nother to see it in black and white.

Just when you think the craziest stuff is over, the one guy Avvi has had her eyes on since day one does something no one would ever see coming.

The the last words of this episode:
"Don't even think about it, Mr. Radcliff. This has been ordered by the Royals. It will be your head if you intervene."

A.S.. Spearwood Academy-Episode Six (Kindle Location 537). Unknown.

I left off the dialogue tag. I want it to throw you for a loop like it did me. For someone who calls herself the Queen of Guesses, this girl is clueless as to what is going to happen next. I'm just about speechless, but I will say this, I'll be sticking around to find out.

Spearwood Academy Volume One: Episodes 1-5 (The Spearwood Academy Series)

Spearwood Academy Volume One: Episodes 1-5 (The Spearwood Academy Series)

Price: $2.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing start to a brand new series!! Must read!!, April 5, 2014
Spearwood Academy Episode 1 is a wonderful start to the series. Avalon, a 15-year-old from Washington, is cursed to turn into a dragon every night. The transformation isn't fun to say the least. Imagine Landon Liboiron's transformation into a werewolf on Hemlock Grove. [...]

Avalon is not the only dragon, but she's different from the others. It seems that everyone knows more about her and the curse than she does. She wants answers - needs them. When Spearwood Academy continues to hound her guardian, Edgar, into allowing her to attend their, currently all boys, school, Avalon and Edgar have to make decision. Will Avalon stay at the orchard with the only dad she's ever known, or will she move to another country in order to get the answers she would otherwise never get?

It's not an easy decision to make, and yet, Avalon has a solid head on her shoulders. She's tough. How could she not be after having to endure what others have been killed over? Even though she is strong, there is still this vulnerable and completely relatable side to her. She cries when she's upset, she licks the batter off spatulas, she watches her favorite movie over and over again.

This book will captivate you and take you to a place you never knew existed, so if you need to take load off and enter a world different from your own, click the buy button.I'm telling you, you won't regret it.

Episode two:
Avvi enters the world of Spearwood Academy where the boys are hot, but their manors are sucky. Not all of them are snobs, but they are entitled. Avvi doesn't understand how they can walk through life without appreciating the small things. At Spearwood, the dragon shape-shifters are waited on hand and foot and they never thank their servants.

I really like the track scene in this story and I want to find out why Avvi has a connection to Amr and if there will be any romance between her and Triton, the hot blonde that is a little full of himself and dared to step in her sensored room. Let's just say there won't be any late night sneaking around, because the sensors go off if a boy walks in. Expulsion probably isn't worth it. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series. This really is a must read. PS Mirren needs to go down!!

Episode 3: (I had read this one before 1 & 2)
I was lucky enough to have read about the free offer on goodreads today. I have not read episode 1 or 2, but wanted to read this one anyway. If you do the same, don't worry. It is very easy to follow. The author is obviously very creative. Who would have thought to have a card turn into a girl that can morph into a laptop? I love that it has just the right amount of details. I hate when I read several pages describing one thing. This author is very descriptive, but doesn't over do the details, so you still get to create the image in your head. The whole time I read, I was in the book world and not looking at my phone's screen. I generally never buy anything under 300 pages because I'm cheap and feel as if I'm being robbed, but I think I'll have to make an exception for this series. The thought of not reading the rest of the series is not a good one. I want it now! Unfortunately, I'll have to wait 20 days before the next one is out. The only negatives about this is that one of the sentences towards the end got messed up. It had two words like the author was going to say one thing but changed their mind and wrote something else instead. It was easy to figure out the sentence though. The other is that it is short. I can't help that I like 500 pagers. But if you do not mind brief works, then you should definitely buy this. It'll be worth it

Episode 4:
Ok, so if you are one of those people who is a chronic addict of all things good, then you need to call your therapist and commit yourself, because you will become addicted. Walk away while you still can. Oh, you can't? I guess it's to late for you, you've already fallen prey to this series' greatness. If you're already addicted, you might as well indulge. From what I've notice, there is a new episode every month. Why not everyday, Miss Oren? I want more NOW!!!!!

So, about this particular episode (for those of you crawling out of the rock you've been under), you will get to see Avvi's spunky side. She's not the kind of girl who let's you tell her what to do. Then, you get to see her practice a little magic and upset someone who obviously needs to pull the stick out of their butt. You'll also get a taste of adventure, but as River song would say, "spoilers", so I will not tell you. There are definitely a few laugh out loud moments, one which has to do with Dante. Along with this, there is a hint of a future relationship between Avvi and two possible suitors. I prefer one over the other, but let's not go there, besides they are both hot.

Anyway, if you're still busy popping your back after digging yourself out of that hole, you need to click the buy button. Notices I said need, not want. You need this series.

Want a vice, chose this series and prepare for falling asleep on the couch (in a good way) and waking up with the phone or reading device still in your hand. Don't be afraid to take an extra long lunch break either, it'll be worth it. Even now, at 2:45am, with a paper due for my English class tomorrow, I've chosen to write this instead of doing my work. This series has come a priority in my life. Why not make it one of yours?

Episode 5:
Wow! Ok, Miss Oren, I want book 6 NOW!!!!!!!

This was the best episode yet, so much ACTION. *squeal*

She made the guys I didn't care for hot! I, myself, am a big Triton fan, but now she has me liking Dante too, and I'm even warming up to Horace, who I first pictured as a short kid with knee-high socks and birth control glasses. Now he's all muscular in my mind and "I'll be here for you Avvi." Seriously, when did they all become so hot!!!!

Lots of stuff to love about this episode. It picks up right after the end of episode 4, where they find out who Avvi will be teamed up with for the survival challenge. The boys, who seem to know a ton about Avvi (that she hasn't told them), want to protect Avvi and have her do some training exercises. Well, they find out she's a lot tougher than they think during their training, and even Avvi is surprised by what she can do.

The challenge itself is very action filled and one of my favorite parts was where she used The Voice on Mirren, the bully of the school so to speak. I was doing my happy dance. As if accidentally scarring his face wasn't bad enough, she now took a shot at his pride, Is anyone else secretly, or not so secretly, hoping that under some strange circumstances, Mirren turns out to be the good guy and Avvi winds up with him? Maybe I have some weird sort of complex where I want to put the wrong people together, but hey, if anyone could bring out the good in Mirren, it would be Avvi, and who wouldn't want her, especially after this episode.

Ok, so let's talk about Avvi, she's been pretty awesome so far, but now she is freakin' amazing. This girl has some you know what and she is not backing down from a challenge. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. The academy thinks they can throw her off guard and destroy her in more ways than one, but she socks it to them when she proves she will do whatever it takes to survive.

The end was a real shock too. Who the heck is "You!" I want to know. NOW!!!!!! But I guess I'll have to way until March 20th to find out. Why can't these come out everyday? I want the goods! I'm starting to sound like and addict, and I'm accepting the fact that I am. Miss Oren better be glad I live halfway across the country, or I would be banging on here door screaming, "Hey, you done yet? You done yet? How about now? Can I have just a snippit, something to hold me over? Please, Miss Oren? Please...? Please...? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Breath of fresh air, February 7, 2014

This book was awesome. The author is very good with suspense and pacing. Even when nothing was really going, I was intrigued. The author definitely has a talent for making the boring, mundane day to day activities seem interesting. This is not to say that any of the book was boring, but it just seemed so...real. It highlight the small town life to a T, along with first time relationships and so forth.

Some reviewers have mentioned that Tegan sounds like a 12 year old and that her parents are too overprotective. I disagree. I thought Tegan sounded really mature, at least in her internal dialogue, sometimes her spoken words did not match the maturity of her internal voice, but that usually only happened when she was around Sara, her bestfriend, Throw too many teenage girls in a room and the maturity level is bound to go down, just saying. As far as parents go, this is the first book I've ever read where the parents really seemed to have a role. They love their daughter and want what is best for her. The author did very good with characterization. I could see everyone, and if you asked me what each character was doing at this moment, I could give you a viable answer.

Yes, Rake is 19, but if some of you remember being 16, I'm sure you will realize that you were either dating or fawning over someone older than you. Don't be jealous that she got the older guy. And hey, I'm not sure how old Damien (officer Sanders) is, but I'd be down for reading about that do. Rake and Tegan's relationship is sweet and they don't go humping each other like cattle. Her birthday/first date was my favorite scene in the book. I say scene, because when I read the book, it was like watching a movie. Everything smoothly transitioned and there was enough of a guessing game to keep me hooked.

If you want a good book that is easy to read with a little romance, a hot cop with secrets, and paranormal elements, then this book is for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy read!!, May 29, 2014

I gave this book a 4 due to grammar mistakes. The grammar mistakes did not adversely affect my reading experience or the content covered.

I didn't even know what homesteading was before picking up this book, but I read the blurb and thought I could take something away from it. I'm a writer myself and I love to learn about the different ways people live. It turns out, two of my characters in two very different books are homesteaders, I just didn't know the term for it. So anyway, I got the book.

The book was a very easy read. I'm a slow reader and I struggle getting through anything nonfiction. This book was an exception. I had no trouble whipping through it. It was written in a conversational style and was straight to the point without being choppy or scattered. I actually found myself hooked and I'm not a homesteader, nor do I plan to be, granted after reading this, if I liked vegetables, I'd probably convert.

The author was very concise and seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the topic. Prescott also pointed out ways that anyone, including apartment dwellers, could apply the homesteading life style. Prescott did not push the money factor. In fact, when solar panels, generators, and other expensive materials were mentioned, the author advised the reader to hold off. "You'll know you need it when you need it" - very solid advice.

This book covers a wide variety of topics: veganism, homeschooling, 100 things challenge, recipes, gardening, vermiculture, and many more. The author was never condescending in her words about any of the topics in this book, but rather gave the facts along with some benefits and risks.

This is the perfect book for a beginner. It's short, but the information within the pages is vast. Not to mention that this book is one of the lower priced in it's genre. Before spending $15 on an e-book on homesteading, I highly recommend you to check out this one. It will be well worth your time. Even if you don't decide to be a homesteader, you will take away an understanding and appreciation for what it is. And who knows, maybe some of the things mentioned can be of use to you.
