Spearwood Academy Episode 9 & 10

 $0.99

5 out of 5 Stars

Okay, so in episode 8, we where left knowing that Avvi had been brainwashed and who was behind it. In episode 9, we pick up right where we left off. This episode focuses a lot on the guys reaction to her new personality. They are all worried about this new change in her and they want to know who is behind it and how to get there beloved Avvi back to her normal self.

These memories that Roseman implanted are so vivid and real to Avvi. Not only that, but many of the facts she learned through her trip down "memory lane" are real. How did Roseman even know about some of these things, like secret passages to Paden's bedroom! No one is safe, not Avvi, and not the boys. They need to change her back and get away from Spearwood, fast. How will they escape unnoticed and unscathed, when no one has left Spearwood and returned a live. Will they beat the odds? Will only some of them make it out alive? You'll just have to read and find out. I have a feeling this is the turning point in the series where we tart seeing the dark side of their reality.

I really loved these two episodes. Oren has a way of weaving some complicated stuff into the plot and bringing it all together. There was a bunch of foreshadowing throughout the series as to what Avvi's ability is and I honestly don't know how I didn't pick up on it, but Oren's reveal of what it is toward the end of episode 10 was brilliant and really showed how Avvi is willing to sacrifice herself, literally, for the ones she cares about. Escape couldn't be easy and Oren handled it so well. Prepare for some intense action in this episode, and become better connected with the Spearwood boys.

Their reacting were very believable and so was Avvi's internal battle with this alter ego taking over her.

Oren writes so well that I was actually liking the "thing" that took over Avvi. Is it just memories that Roseman implanted, or did he implant a parasite along with them? Maybe the scales will tell. Oren has so many interesting things happening in this episode. We get to learn a lot more about the boys, see how the really feel about Avvi, some of their background history, and their abilities we haven't seen yet.

After reading these episodes, there's no way I'm missing out on Spearwood Boys, which is set to be out on 8/28. As far as i know, it'll start from the beginning and we'll get to see what the guys where thinking when Avvi arrived. I'm really liking all of the guys in this book and I'm curious to see which one of them Avvi will wind up with. I'm a major Triton fan, but this episode had be sliding over to team Dante! We also get to see the Voice in action again which I LOVED. Well done, Oren. Bring on episode 11 & 12!

False Security by Angie Martin

 False Security$2.99

I don't know what to say...WOW! 5 of 5 stars

I just finished reading this book a few moments ago. WOW! I'm so glad there is a book 2! I can't wait. This book is written in two parts, but really it's like three. Present, past, present. It is a LONG book and I won't lie, it took me a long time to finish, but that was because I was soaking up every word. Angie is a mastermind with suspense. In the beginning you have this brand new relationship with Mark that unfolds beautifully and you're sitting there waiting for Mark to pop the question. At the same time, Rachel is keeping secrets that she doesn't want Mark to find out about. There's a reason she never stays anywhere for long and bolt locks litter her door, but don't expect this story to be a retelling of something that has been done in the movies. This work is completely original in every facet, and though some of your predictions may play out, you'll never expect it to happen the way it does. I've never been a reader of adult suspense, but now I am. Not only that, but Angie is going down on my author watch list. I'm in awe after finishing this book, and I'm sure Conduit will be just as good, if not better.

Part 1:
This section of the book was really slow to me, but I didn't mind. There was plenty to keep me guessing and wanting to read the next chapter. Angie didn't jip me with lack of details. I felt like I could go to Kansas and find all these places. My favorite part was the bubbles scene. You'll have to read to find out. Oh, it was so romantic.

Part:
This part was fast paced and gripping. I could not put it down. I pulled a few all nighters reading. This world Angie created...wow! I don't want to give anything away, but even after seeing the love that Mark and Angie shared, Angie had me falling for the bad guy. I'm still kind of into him, though during several parts of the book, I wanted him to be shot. I have a whole new understanding for people is Rachel's situation. I don't know what I would do in her case either.

In the second part, I got a sort of coming of age story mixed with crime, murder, and...sex! Oh yes, this part was not a let down at all. It's not 50 shades of gray. Everything is tasteful and believable. It really allowed me to get a sense of how far in Rachel was. Her world was not the world I'm living in. Mark starts to see a glimpse into that world, but it may get him killed. If he does survive, what will he do to keep Rachel safe? That's something you'll have to read to find out. Do not stop reading at part one, part 2 was just ugh there aren't words. I want to say so much more, but I can't without giving away spoilers, so I won't. Read this book. You won't regret it. It's one of those that will linger with you for days or months.
